Riding The Waves

How am I doing--you ask?  Well, it's definitely NOT boring around my house these days.

Oh, and if you like holding cute little people, or changing not-so-cute little diapers I might hire you. :)

Actually considering what our family has been through in the last seven days I would say we are surviving pretty well.

We have had a nasty bout of stomach flu, and two year olds are not very good at "hitting the bucket."  ( Thank you Lord for steam cleaners.)

Just to make things interesting we've also had some respiratory yuckiness going on.  One child with pneumonia, and several with nasty coughs and congestion.  For the record I think the pneumonia started before they came to our house.

Other than that we are having all kinds of fun with Duplos, and blocks, and toy cars, and babies.

Everyone is sleeping good at night.  Especially one very tired momma, and one pretty tired daddy.

I guess the best way to describe it is to say we are riding the waves--not sinking beneath them.

Next week I'll try to get back to more regular posting.

For those of you who have been praying for us---Thank You!!!

  1. You get the medal of honor for Motherhood, (and Fatherhood)!

    Send up more prayers.
    take your time coming back.
    They need you.

  2. Kind of amazing, what you've taken upon yourselves. And kind of inspiring, too.

  3. Christine, Thank you, but I don't really think it's medal worthy. I would hope someone would step up and do the same for me if I needed help. These kids have no one to speak for them--I hope we can be that voice.

  4. Silver, Thank you! Didn't know you were keeping track of the craziness in our house. :)

  5. "Keeping track?" Me? Nahhh, it's called "spying." Heh.

And hey, why can't I sign up for follow-up comments any more???

  6. Dear Rebecca hope all be OK and miss you:)

  7. Silver, Not sure--I'll check out my settings during naptime today. :)

  8. Gloria, We're getting better--nice to talk to you again. :)

  9. So glad you are doing well!

Pneumonia isn't contagious, just so you know...or maybe you already knew. ha.

I'm sure all kinds of bugs had to be swapped and shared with new little ones coming in. Glad they are getting along well. We've gone through three carpet steamers with out boys.

I can't think of anything more rewarding than giving little ones a calm, predictable and loving environment when they didn't have that before. They will thrive in your care, I have no doubt!

riding the that phrase..but you probably already knew that!

I've noticed that in this new format that you can't subscribe to followup comments! I don't think it's a setting of your choice. I think Google did away with it. If you set up for reply comments, you will get it, though. Maybe when you have a spare minute. lol.

  10. Hi from south Dakota. I've been thinking of you alot, and praying for everyone to get better, so your life can start to assume a new normal.I feel like I'd just be a burden if I'd call but know you're in my thoughts. Lord willing we'll be back Tuesday morning . We're having a very nice time, I'm so glad we came! I'm disappointed our house deal fell throuh,g but in a way I'm glad I don't have to move when we get home
