I don't particularly enjoy going to the doctor.
What I like even less is going to a doctor that I've never met before.
I've had the same family doctor for about 7 years.
He has a good sense of humor.
He acts like you are the only patient he has to see all day.
And I'm comfortable with him.
However........
he doesn't deliver babies anymore.
Apparently he doesn't like crawling out of his comfy bed in the middle of the night, or whenever a baby decides to appear.
I can't really blame him. :)
This means that I have to go to a new doctor for this pregnancy.
I'll call her Dr. M.
She is very nice, and reminds me a little of one of my favorite aunts.
But, she is still not my doctor.
I guess this sounds a little petty........
I'm curious, do any of you mind going to a new doctor, or midwife?

Yeah, that's hard...especially when you love the old doctor! This happened to me when I got pregnant with Taylor. My favorite doctor didn't deliver anymore, either I ended up liking the new one just fine.
ReplyDelete...and soon yours won't be 'new' anymore. :)
How are you feeling?
YES, I mind! I had to switch midwives and I was not happy. I was sure I couldn't like anyone as much as Deb. I'm happy to say though it worked out wonderfully better than I could have hoped for, and I came to really appreciate the second midwife I had. If I had to choose between them now, it would be hard to decide who to go with! JJH
ReplyDeleteYes, that happened to me as well. Our 3 boys were delivered by the same doctor then five years later I needed a new doctor for our daughter. Dread! But it's all good now and we still like the "new" one 9 years later. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't mind going to new doctors -- once they've been properly broken in -- but going to a midwife? That I wouldn't be thrilled with.
